Two Bodo militants, one of whom was involved in the killing of Bengali-speaking Muslims in Assam's Baksa district last year, have been arrested in joint operations by security forces, an official said here on Wednesday.
The two cadres of the anti-talk faction of the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) were arrested from two places in operations conducted by the Indian Army and Assam Police, Guwahati-based defence spokesman Lt. Col. Suneet Newton said.
One of the arrested militants -- NDFB's self-styled deputy commander Udiyachal Dwimary alias Udangcha -- was involved in the massacre of Bengali-speaking Muslims in Baksa district last year, Newton said.
One 7.65 mm pistol, some ammunition and two hand grenades were seized from him.
In another incident, security forces arrested Sandhulal Basumatary alias Shakal from Kokrajhar district. One 7.62 mm pistol and some ammunition were seized from him, the spokesman said.
