Two burglars and four car thieves were arrested in Ghaziabad in two separate incidents and stolen jewellery, cars, and motorcycles, besides some weapons, seized from them, police said on Friday.
Superintendent of Police, City, Akash Tomar, in a press conference, said that the Sahibabad police nabbed two suspected burglars during extensive checking programme. During sustained interrogation, the two, identified as Mohammad Wasim and Rihan, admitted to their crimes.
Acting on their revelation, police recovered jewellery worth over a lakh, two pistols and an Apache motorcycle from their possession.
In second incident, the Sahibabad police nabbed four car thieves near the Hindon Air Force station on Friday morning. Two luxury cars, four pistols and tools to open car locks were seized on the basis of the information.
The thieves, identified as Abdul Hussain, Pummy Shokeen, Umesh Jain and Mohamamd Imran, said one more of their accomplices Sameer was still absconding. Efforts are being made to arrest him soon, added Tomar.
