Two officials of the Chandigarh police were injured in a shootout between a police team and gangsters near Punjab's Moga town Wednesday evening, police sources said here.
The injured included a sub-inspector and a head constable, the sources said. The sub-inspector was hit by a bullet in the stomach and was taken to a hospital in Moga.
The shootout took place when the Chandigarh police had gone to arrest members of a drugs gang who were hiding in a village near Moga town, 170 km from here.
The Punjab Police rushed additional personnel to the area after the shootout was reported.
