Two devotees die of heart attack in Jharkhand

Two devotees died of heart attack in Jharkhand's Deoghar district on Friday after offering prayers at the famous Baba Baidyanath Shiva temple on the occasion of Mahashivaratri, police said.

According to police, Chandrachur Prasad Gupta, 58, a resident of Begusarai district of Bihar, fell down near the exit gate of the temple after offering prayers. He was rushed to a local hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.

The second person, Tarkeshwar Giri, 42, a resident of Samastipur district of Bihar, suffered a heart attack while on way to his hotel, along with family members, after offering prayers.

He was taken to the Sadar Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

 

Over a lakh devotees from different parts of the country offered prayers on Friday at the Shiva temple of Deoghar on Mahashivaratri.
