Two people were killed and four injured when a four storey building collapsed in Jaipur early Saturday, police said.
"We got a call at around 3.30 a.m. of a building collapse...we started rescue and relief operations. Two were found dead while four others were rescued and taken to hospital where there are undergoing treatment," said a police official.
He said that three people, including a child, may be trapped in the debris and the relief and rescue operation have been speeded up in Bhatta Basti area.
"Detailed investigations into collapse of building will be carried out as soon as we clear all the debris. Some construction activities were also going on the top floor of the building and it is yet to be ascertained that was it a reason behind building collapse," he said.
Usman, who stays near the building, recalled: "I hear a loud explosion at around 3 a.m. and suddenly my eyes were filled with dirt. When I opened my eyes I found a four storey building in front of me turned into debris. I started to search for the persons living in the building and soon police was at the spot."
