Two youth were injured on Friday in clashes between protesters and security forces in Kashmir's Pulwama district.

Clashes erupted on Friday in Kakapora town of Pulwama district between stone-pelting protesters and the security forces in the aftermath of killing of a Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander Talib Hussain Shah who belonged to Astanpora (Kakapora) in a gunfight with the security forces on Thursday.

"Two youth identified as Amir Ahmad Bhat, 22, of Ratnipora and Firdous Ahmad, 20, of Karimabad were injured during these clashes and they have been shifted to Srinagar for treatment," a senior police officer told IANS here.

Reports from the area said Amir had sustained a bullet injury in the abdomen while Firdous was hit by tear smoke.

Senior police and paramilitary officers have rushed to the area to bring the situation under control where clashes are still going on.
