Mexico City, Sep 24 (IANS/EFE) Two journalists were found dead at a hotel in the southeastern Mexican state of Tabasco, sources with the state Attorney General's Office said on Thursday.

The institution identified the victims on Wednesday night on Twitter as Jose Joaquin Perez Morales and Aurelio Hernandez Herrera, whose bodies were found at the Carranza hotel in Tabasco capital Villahermosa.

Investigators were carrying out an inquiry and forensic experts were conducting autopsies, the AG's office said.

The two journalists arrived on Wednesday morning at the hotel in the company of two women, and their bodies were found at 12.45 p.m. the same day, local media reported.

The cause of death may have been poisoning considering that the corpses of Morales, a 61-year-old journalist, and Herrera, a 65-year-old photojournalist, bore no signs of violence.

Morales and Herrera were working at the time of their deaths for online magazine Oro Negro and Tabasco's Cultural Institute, respectively.
