Two members of a family were killed when a bomb exploded inside their house in West Bengal's Birbhum district, police said on Friday.
The incident happened in the house of Sheikh Jabir Hussain in Ahmedpur, some 180 km from Kolkata.
"Two people have been killed. Prima facie it appears a bomb was being made in the house when it exploded," said a police officer.
The victims have been identified as Sheikh Hafizul and Tariq Hussain, both brothers of Sheikh Jabir Hussain, gram panchayat member from the state's ruling Trinamool Congress.
Residents claimed that some bodies were removed before the police reached the spot.
