Two persons, out of the several injured in the NTPC boiler blast in Uttar Pradesh, were on Thursday brought to the Safdarjung Hospital here, while nearly seven others were still being shifted to the national capital, said officials.

A green corridor was created to bring the patients to the national capital, considering the seriousness of their health condition.

"Two of the injured patients have been shifted to Safdarjung Trauma Centre. Others are being brought," said an official.

According to Union Health Ministry, nine patients were to be shifted to AIIMS and Safdarjung hospital so that they could get a better treatment.

"As directed by the Union Health Minister J.P Nadda, all necessary arrangements are made at AIIMS Trauma Centre and Safdarjung Trauma Centre for the victims of the NTPC blast. About nine patients are likely to be shifted there," said a ministry official, adding Nadda is in touch with the state authorities.

The death toll in the blast in NTPC's Unchahar unit in Rae Bareli rose to 30 on Thursday. The government has ordered a magisterial probe into the tragedy.

The massive explosion took place in a 500 MW unit in Unchahar town on the Lucknow-Allahabad Highway on Wednesday. Many were trapped when the boiler burst and a huge ball of dust rose, making the rescue operations difficult.
