A Pakistani court sentenced two brothers to death on Monday for killing their sister and her husband to protect the family's "honour", the media reported.

The court also fined them Rs.1 million each (over Indian Rs.65,000).

The two brothers had killed their sister and her husband for marrying out of their own will six years ago.

More than 500 men and women fell victim to "honour killings" in 2015, according to the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan.
