Two UP juveniles held for helping Delhi criminal escape

Two juveniles were arrested for allegedly helping a dreaded gangster escape from police custody, the Delhi Police said on Tuesday.

The juveniles, both aged around 17, were arrested on August 12, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Ravindra Yadav told reporters here.

The duo was presented before the Juvenile Justice Board which remanded them in a child observation centre. Both are residents of Baraut area of Baghpat district in Uttar Pradesh, the police said.

Jitender was freed from police custody while he was travelling with a police escort from Rohini jail for a court appearance in Narwana in Haryana on July 30.

 

With the arrest of the two juveniles, the number of those arrested in the case has gone up to six.

Earlier, former junior national boxing champion Deepak, former national-level gold medallist athlete Parveen Panchi, Mohit and Sanjay were arrested in the case.
