A UAE-based Kerala businessman T.V. Narayanan Kutty will contribute Rs one crore towards organising the second edition of the Kochi-Muziris Biennale 2014 slated to begin in Dec 2014.

"I am extremely happy to be associated with the Biennale. Only art can bring back and preserve those values that have started to disintegrate," said Kutty, the founder and chairman of Dubai-headquartered IAL Group .

He appreciated the efforts made by artists Bose Krishnamachari and Riyas Komu for holding the Biennale which has acquired global fame since its first edition in 2012.

Artist Jitish Kallat, who is the curator of the 2014 biennale, said the upcoming edition would not be a reflection on Kochi. Instead, it would mirror an outward view of the old cosmopolitan city, he said.

"We will converse and reach out to the realities of today's world," he said, adding that art students from across the country would participate in the 108-day Biennale 2014 which would also host a film festival.
