UAE Foreign Minister meets New Zealand PM Jacinda Ardern

Wellington, May 3 (IANS/WAM) UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan has met New Zealand's Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern here for bilateral discussions, following the reveal of New Zealand's $53 million pavilion for the 2020 World Expo to be held in Dubai.

During the meeting on Wednesday, the two sides discussed means of enhancing and developing friendly relations and cooperation between the United Arab Emirates and New Zealand in investment, trade, economic, energy, renewable energy and food security.

Sheikh Abdullah was also briefed on New Zealand's plans for its pavilion for the 2020 world expo in Dubai. The 2000 square metre pavilion will feature an exhibition space, restaurant, design store and hosting facilities.

 

Both the leaders also reviewed the latest developments in the region and exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of common concern.

Sheikh Abdullah affirmed the close relations that the UAE and New Zealand share and the continuous keenness to strengthen and develop them with the support of both countries' leadership.

Ardern welcomed Sheikh Abdullah's visit, saying it will open wider horizons of joint cooperation between the two countries. The meeting was attended by Saleh Ahmed Al Suwaidi, the UAE Ambassador to New Zealand.
