Dubai, March 15 (IANS/WAM) The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Turkmenistan on Thursday vowed to cement their ties through enhancing bilateral trade and cultural cooperation.
The two sides made the pledge during talks between UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and visiting Turkmenistan President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow.
The two leaders discussed a number of political and economic issues of common interest, in the presence of Crown Prince of Dubai Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
Their talks focused on the means of enhancing the bilateral ties in economic, cultural, investment, and other fields which will contribute to establishing a strong partnership based on mutual respect and realising the supreme national interests of both parties.
Sheikh Mohammed emphasised the importance of mutually encouraging private investment in each other and providing joint investment opportunities especially in the science, knowledge and tourism fields, among others.
Berdimuhamedow praised the "high level of progress and development" witnessed by the UAE on various levels, expressing his hope that the visit will yield good results for the benefit of both countries.
