Legia Warsaw must host Real Madrid in November in an empty stadium as punishment for fan violence and racist behaviour at a Champions League match, the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) declared on Thursday.

UEFA said its disciplinary panel ordered the sanction to apply when defending champions Real Madrid visit the Polish Army Stadium on November 2. Legia were also fined 80,000 euros (about $90,000), reports Efe.

Fans clashed with stadium security staff, threw objects and lit fireworks, and discrimination monitors reported anti-Semitic abuse during Legia Warsaw's 0-6 loss to German powerhouse Borussia Dortmund two weeks ago.

Legia lost 0-2 at Sporting Lisbon on Tuesday and are in last place in Group F. They next play at Madrid on October 18.
