The Ugandan police said Saturday they have foiled a terror attack and arrested some suspects in capital Kampala.
"We have foiled a terror attack and have arrested some suspects," Fred Enanga, a spokesperson with the police, told Xinhua over telephone.
The spokesperson did not elaborate on the attack.
The US embassy earlier Saturday warned its citizens in Kampala to stay home or shelter in a safe place.
"Ugandan authorities are conducting operations against a suspected terrorist cell in Kampala. All US citizens are advised to stay at home or proceed to a safe location," according to a statement posted on the website of the embassy.
