Uganda's star striker Yunus Ssentamu has refused to return to Tunisia's CS Sfaxien due to a contractual dispute, a media report said on Thursday.

The Tunisian top side signed the 20-year-old striker early this year after his performance at the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) side AS Vita Club last season, Xinhua reported.

"I have been in Uganda for some time now and will not be returning to Tunisia unless the club pays my sign-on fees as we had agreed," the player told Xinhua.

Haruna Kyobe, the club secretary to Ssentamu's former Ugandan side SC Vipers, confirmed that the player is currently training with them to keep fit.

Ssentamu scored two goals including one against CS Sfaxien to help DRC's AS Vita Club reach the 2014 Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League finals where they lost to Algeria's ES Setif. CS Sfaxien also won the 2013 CAF Confederations Cup.

The striker was spotted by the DRC team after scoring three goals for Uganda during the 2014 Africa Nations Championship held in South Africa.
