Four Ugandan women who were allegedly victimised by Delhi Law Minister Somnath Bharti and his party supporters in the intervening night of Jan 16 have recorded their statement before the magistrate Tuesday, police said.
Their statement was recorded at the magistrate's office in south Delhi in the afternoon under section of 164 CrPC, a police official said.
Police said the women will be called to identify the accused people by showing the video footage of the incident sought from various news channels.
On Saturday, police had registered a case against unidentified people of assault after the women lodged a complaint. The women had stated that they were assaulted Thursday night by the minister and his men while conducting a midnight-raid to bust a drug and prostitution racket in south Delhi's Malviya Nagar area.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had staged a 33-hour protest near Rail Bhawan, demanding action against some police officers, including those who did not comply with Bharti's direction to enter the house of suspected African nationals and bust the alleged racket.
