UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on Monday condemned the deadly terrorist attack in Turkey's Suruc town, in claimed at least 28 people were killed and more than a hundred were injured.

No cause or grievance ever justifies the targeting of civilians, and the secretary-general hopes the perpetrators of this act will be swiftly identified and brought to justice, Xinhua quoted Ban's spokesperson as saying in a statement.

"He sends his deepest condolences to the victims and their families, as well as to the government and people of Turkey, and wishes those injured a speedy recovery," the statement added.

An apparent suicide bombing ripped through a rally on Monday in the Amara Cultural Park of Suruc, a town on the Turkish border with Syria.
