UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon will travel over the weekend to The Hague to attend the 2014 Nuclear Security Summit, a UN spokesperson has said.
The secretary-general will speak at the opening session of the two-day event Monday, Xinhua quoted Farhan Haq, the deputy UN spokesperson, as saying here Thursday.
The Nuclear Security Summit, the third conference of its kind, will bring together around 60 world leaders and 5,000 delegates in The Hague, the Netherlands.
Ban will also hold bilateral meetings with leaders attending the coming summit, Haq said.
Ban will return to New York Thursday.
