Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik celebrated Diwali on Wednesday with deprived children and orphans.
Over two dozen children from the Rajkiya Bal Shishu Grah were invited to Raj Bhavan by Naik.
In the presence of government officials and his staff, Naik spent time with the children, gave them gifts, sweets and crackers.
His wife Kunda Naik, chief secretary Alok Ranjan, state election commissioner S.K. Agarwal, Lokayukta N.K. Mehrotra, police chief Jagmohan Yadav and dignitaries from other walks of life were present during the festivities.
Naik also met family members of Raj Bhavan staff and gave them gifts. He urged them to celebrate the festival of lights in an eco-friendly manner by not bursting high-decibel crackers.
