The Uttar Pradesh government has asked the administration to be extra vigilant and ensure that incidents based on trivial things do not blow up into major incidents that catch media attention.

In a missive to all district magistrates and district police chiefs, the state's Chief Secretary Rahul Bhatnagar has said an intelligence system should be in place so that such happenings, crimes, mishaps and other incidents are reported immediately to the state government.

This, he said was in pursuance of the directives issued by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

According to the local intelligence units, Bhatnagar said officials should promptly go to such scenes of crimes or mishaps and take necessary action.

He said the police officials should be sympathetic towards the affected families and ensure rescue and relief at the earliest.

In case any such incident requires the intervention of the state government the matter should be brought to his notice immediately, the chief secretary said.

He warned officials of any laxity with regard to this directive and said stringent action will be taken against such officials.
