Japan's Urawa Red Diamonds on Tuesday defeated Wydad Casablanca of Morocco 3-2 in the FIFA Club World Cup fifth place match.
Mauricio Antonio opened the scoring for the Japanese side 18 minutes into the match, but Ismail el-Haddad equalized for Wydad just three minutes later on Tuesday, reports Efe.
Urawa Red's Yosuke Kashiwagi put his team ahead 2-1 with a goal in the 26th minute and Antonio made it 3-1 for the Diamonds in the 58th minute.
Wydad's Reda Hajhouj narrowed the gap in the last minute, converting a penalty.
The Moroccan team previously suffered a 0-1 defeat against Mexico's Pachuca, the winners of the 2016-17 CONCACAF Champions League, on Dec. 9 in the quarterfinal.
Urawa Red fell 0-1 to the United Arab Emirates league champion Al-Jazira in the quarterfinals.
