Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani was recalled to Uruguay's national football squad for the FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Ecuador and Chile next month.

Cavani missed Uruguay's victories over Bolivia and Colombia in their opening qualifiers for the 2018 tournament in Russia due to suspension, reports Xinhua.

Uruguay will again be without their Barcelona striker Luis Suarez, who is still serving a nine-match ban for biting Italy's Giorgio Chiellini during last year's World Cup.

Coach Oscar Tabarez included two Brazil-based players in his 24-man squad -- Vasco da Gama goalkeeper Martin Silva and Cruzeiro midfielder Giorgian de Arrascaeta.

The two-time World Cup winners currently head the South American zone World Cup qualifying standings ahead of Ecuador and Chile on goal difference. 'Los Charruas' will play Ecuador in Quito on November 12 before hosting Chile in Montevideo five days later.
