The establishment of diplomatic ties between the US and Cuba is "a victory for the Cuban people and government", the CPI-M said Thursday.
The Communist Party of India-Marxist said it welcomed the agreement between the two governments to take steps to normalize relations between them.
"The release of the three remaining 'Cuban Five' jailed in the US on false charges of espionage and the decision to renew diplomatic relations are a victory for the Cuban people and government who have faced more than five decades of efforts by the US to isolate it," the party said.
