Usha Northern India Ladies and Junior Girls Golf Championship is set to get underway at the Classic Golf Course here Oct 9-11.
One of the four zonal competitions, the Indian Golf Union (IGU) event, with 61 entries, will be played over three days and 54 holes in the stroke-play format.
Delhi's Gurbani Singh, the current Order of Merit leader of the IGU Ladies Amateur Golf Tour, is in splendid form and is coming off from a facile victory in Chandigarh last week. Gurbani will start favourite but will be wary of Bangalore's Aditi Ashok.
Both have held the distinction of being the youngest winners of the IGU Ladies Tour and last year, Gurbani piped Aditi to the post to win the tour. The tournament will see the winner Oct 11.
Other participants will be Gauri Monga, Millie Saroha, Riddhima Dilawari and Seher Atwal.
The women will also look to log some valuable points to make it to the national squad.
