Ruud van Nistelrooy has hailed English striker Jamie Vardy for breaking the former Dutch great's English Premier League goal-scoring mark.
Leicester City's Vardy scored his team's only goal in the first half in a 1-1 draw on Saturday, which was the 11th consecutive game he netted, breaking van Nistelrooy's streak of 10 matches.
Van Nistelrooy, the former Manchester United striker, set the bar in 2003.
"Well done @vardy7! You're number one now and you deserved it. #11inarow," the former Dutch international said on social networking site Instagram.
