Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu has decided to adopt a cyclone-affected village in Andhra Pradesh.
The minister Thursday announced that he and his family members will adopt Chepalupada village and undertake rebuilding work.
Venkiah Naidu said they were ready to spend any amount of money required for reconstruction of the village battered by cyclone Hudhud October 12.
He said he will provide Rs.25 lakh to the village from the MP Local Area Development Fund.
Venkiah Naidu with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu led hundreds of citizens in a candle and torch light march Wednesday night to show solidarity with the cyclone victims.
The minister said the central government was ready to provide more financial assistance to help Visakhapatnam get back to normalcy.

Venkiah Naidu said the central government was waiting for a proper assessment report on the destruction caused by the cyclone, after which more funds would be provided.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who visited cyclone-battered Visakhapatnam October 14, had announced Rs.1,000 crore as interim assistance to the state.
