An outlet of the Heritage brand departmental chain, founded by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu, was attacked on Monday by activists of a fringe Tamil outfit, police said. Four accused have been arrested.
The Monday attack on a Heritage store is the second such attack by fringe Tamil organisations protesting against the killing of 20 wood cutters hailing from Tamil Nadu by the Andhra Pradesh police on April 7. The first attack occurred on April 9.
According to police, no one was injured in the attack on Monday.
Four members of the Naam Tamilar outfit have been arrested in connection with the attack.
The Heritage departmental stores are part of Rs.1,722.04 crore Heritage Foods Ltd founded by Naidu, as per the company's website.
The major political parties in Tamil Nadu have maintained silence on the attack.
