Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari will visit Assam's Kaziranga National Park on Thursday, due to which some of its areas would be out of bounds for tourists for a day.
"Elephant ride and jeep safari will be unavailable for tourists in the central range of the park on Thursday to facilitate the VVIP visit," said a senior park official.
However, the elephant rides in Bagori range will be offered as usual, he said.
Ansari will arrive in Assam on Wednesday and head directly to the Tezpur University, located at Tezpur in northern Assam's Sonitpur district, to inaugurate the 19th National Convention on Knowledge, Library and Information Networking.
On Thursday, the Vice President is scheduled to visit the national park and will leave for New Delhi the same evening.
