Vietnam will do its best to deepen energy cooperation with Russia as it is one of the key pillars in the two countries' strategic partnership, Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung said Saturday.
He was speaking at a meeting with Alexey Miller, the visiting chief executive officer of Russia's Gazprom, Xinhua reported.
Dung affirmed Vietnam's support for cooperation between Gazprom and Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group, adding that he hopes they will step up the pace of oil and gas survey and exploration projects.
For his part, Miller said Gazprom is interested in expanding its operations in Vietnam.
The group always supports the Vietnamese oil and gas enterprises in Russia as well as promote bilateral links in the supply of liquefied petroleum gas, crude oil and personnel training, reported Vietnam's state-run news agency VNA, he added.
