Voting was under way on Saturday in by-elections to the Jhabua-Ratlam Lok Sabha and Devas assembly constituencies.
Voters queued up in large numbers at the polling booths since early in the morning despite a chill.
The death of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Jhabhua MP Dilip Singh Bhuria and Devas legislator Tukojirao Pawar prompted the by-elections.
In Jhabua, the entry of the Janata Dal-United has turned it into a triangular fight also involving the BJP and the Congress. In Devas, it is a straight contest between the BJP and the Congress.
