The Jabalpur bench of the Madhya Pradesh high court on Wednesday refused to pass any order on Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's plea to allow a CBI probe into the Vyapam scam, saying that it will hear the matter on July 20 after the Supreme Court's order in the case.

The high court said that the matter was pending in the Supreme Court and it would hear the plea on July 20 after the apex court had passed its order, Additional Advocate General Pushpendra Kaurav told IANS.

The Congress party and others have moved the Supreme Court for a CBI probe into the Vyapam recruitment and admissions scam. The apex court will hear the matter on July 9.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had written to high court on Tuesday to allow a CBI probe into the Vyapam scam currently being probed by an STF which is being monitored by an SIT constituted by the high court.

Vyapam (Vyavsayik Pareeksha Mandal) conducts various recruitment and entrance exams which are not conducted by the MP Public Service Commission. The scam came to light in 2013. So far nearly 2,100 arrests have been made in connection with the scam.
