It was a warm day in Delhi on Monday with the maximum temperature settling at 39.6 degrees Celsius, normal for the season's average, even as the weather office predicted a partly cloudy Tuesday.
The weather office also predicted possibility of heat wave in Delhi from Wednesday for couple of days.
"The sky will remain partly cloudy with possibility of thunder and lightening on Tuesday," an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official told IANS.
The weather office further said the maximum and minimum temperatures on Tuesday are likely to hover around 40 and 27 degrees Celsius, respectively.
The humidity at 8.30 a.m was 50 per cent, while it came down to 25 per cent at 5.30 p.m.

Sunday's maximum temperature settled at 37.8 degrees Celsius, two notches below the season's average, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 25.5 degrees Celsius, three notches below the season's average.
