Former India captain and Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) member Sourav Ganguly on Friday said they had recommended former star seamer Zaheer Khan as bowling consultant for "150 days".
As per the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) media release on Thursday, both Zaheer and former national team skipper Rahul Dravid were appointed "on overseas tour-to-tour basis, as per the requirement of the team".
But Ganguly here said that their recommendation for the World Cup winning left-arm pacer to be appointed as India's bowling consultant was for 150 days a year, which is much more than the total number of days India usually spend on tours abroad.
"(We recommended) 150 days a year," Ganguly told reporters here.
India played in the Caribbean from June 23 till July 9 and will be travelling to Sri Lanka for three Tests, five ODIs and one T20 from July 26-September 6.
The national squad is scheduled to tour South Africa later this year between November and January.
