Weak global cues dent equity markets, Sensex down 105 points

Weak global cues dented investor sentiments at the Indian equity markets, leading to a barometer index to recede by 106 points, or 0.40 percent, during the mid-afternoon trade session on Monday.

Downward trajectory was also observed at the wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE). It fell by 19.65 points or 0.25 percent at 7,962.25 points.

The barometer 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 26,107.98 points, was trading at 26,112.92 points (at 1.45 p.m.), down 105.99 points or 0.40 percent from the previous day's close at 26,218.91 points.

The Sensex touched a high of 26,190.25 points and a low of 25,972.54 points in the intra-day trade so far.
