Activist Suhani Jalota, who runs Myna Mahila Foundation, attended the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on Saturday in an elegant sari designed by Indian brand Raw Mango run by designer Sanjay Garg.

Sanjay Garg, Textile Designer and Founder, Raw Mango told IANS: "We are excited that we were able to represent and create something more than what meets the eyes - the sari is a symbol that is rooted in culture, heritage and history, which speaks to one's individuality & identity, therefore becoming a medium to express oneself."

Myna Mahila foundation empowers women to speak about issues they are most afraid to discuss aloud - they encourage and employ women from urban slums in Mumbai to manufacture and sell affordable sanitary pads back into their communities, improving menstrual hygiene, providing stable employment, and building a trusted network.

Suhani met Meghan in 2016 when the former went to give an acceptance speech at the Glamour College Women of the Year Awards.

Meghan married Britain's Prince Harry at St George's Chapel in Windsor.
