Right from pandas dancing on electronic dance music (EDM) to nursery rhyme "If you are happy and you know it clap your hands" getting a heady electronic twist, the third day of the ongoing Vh1 Supersonic 2015 here was all about mixing and fusion.
The event on Tuesday was charged up with some thumping music and melodious beats with performances by Dutch trance and electro house duo W&W and Mexican American DJ Deorro.
Picture this -- all the crowd at the EDM fest sitting down on the ground and jumping off with the blast of sound or dimming of stage lights only to be illuminated by flash of the cellphones.
Well, the performance by the Dutch electronic music duo -- Willem van Hanegem and Ward van der Harstwas, at the four-day musical extravaganza all about this and more.
The stage's production coming to life gradually with a journey starting from minimal lights and visuals towards spectrum of colourful lights, laser lights communicating with the crowd in their own ways, set a frenetic mood.
W&W got the crowd grooving with their impressive remixes like Adele's "Hello", "We could be heros" and tracks like "Jungle vibe", building the intensity amid pulsating beats until their last track.
A frenzy engulfed the crowd when a different version of nursery rhyme --"If you are happy and you know it clap your hands. If you party and you know it clap your hands. If you are messed up and you know it clap your hands. If you are f****d up and know it clap your hands. If you are drinking and you know it clap your hands" was played. And they surely couldn't get enough of it."
W&W first asked the crowd to put their hands up in air and then demonstrated hand gestures and the audience repeated it as the tempo increased gradually with heavy electro sounds. The music was so infectious that it made everyone shake a leg to the beats and fans cheering till their voice became hoarse.
Then the occasional confetti blasts and smokes added a surprise quotient for the crowd. A melodious vibe sweeped across the sprawling venue as the duo churned out a soft number with cellphone flash lighting up the area. Another high moment was artist and crowd prancing together in unison.
Boosting the energy of the crowd, they said: "Who is ready to go crazy tonight. Everybody make some noise. How are you guys feeling tonight. Vh1 supersonic amazing."
There was a hue of patriotism at the fest, which started on December 27, as Indian flag was hurled by W&W, and could be spotted by every person in the crowd.
Another star performer of the night was Deorro, who brought his panda funk in India with adding his spin to tracks like "A party without me" and "You are my wonderland" leaving the audience wanting for more.
The crowd had been building up throughout the day as people start trickling down at the fest, but the real party at the sandy shores starts when the sun sets.
Well, there was some Bhangra fever as well. Some of the people were seen shaking their leg on the electronic dance with bhangra twist. The audience was in high spirit as people from all age groups were seen dancing at the fest.
Despite of stages -- Iron Heart and Spectrum (stage curated by Awakenings) -- taking most of the spotlight, the third stage - Laboratoire -- managed to pull in a decent crowd by hosting names like DJ Zinc, Alix Perez and Culture Shock and making music lovers dancing to their tunes.
A cursory glance on the music slate shows that they have saved the best for the last with Swedish DJ Axwell and Netsky and MC Script performing on the final day.
