Telugu actor Pawan Kalyan was slated to meet and thank fans here Sunday for making his latest release "Attarintiki Daaredhi" a blockbuster but due to undisclosed reasons the event stands cancelled. The film's producer, however, says that it has nothing to do with the cabinet's approval to a separate Telangana state.
"We had planned to have a grand 'Thanks Meet' Sunday, but due to some reasons we had to call it off. Some things didn't fall in place and hence we cancelled it. It has nothing to do with the announcement of Telangana," producer B.V.S.N Prasad told IANS.
"We are working on a new date and we intend to announce soon. The entire cast and crew of the film will be present for the event," he added.
"Attarintiki Daaredhi", which released Sep 27, has reportedly netted over Rs. 50 crore at the box office worldwide. It is directed by Trivikram.
Pawan Kalyan, who usually never attends public gatherings, personally initiated the 'Thank You' event after being overwhelmed with the response to his film.
The movie also features Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Pranitha, Nadhiya and Boman Irani in important roles.
