WIFW's first day wraps up on a holiday note

Day One of the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW) concluded here Wednesday with cool resort wear and a range for women who love to travel.

Fashion designer Malini Ramani's spring-summer collection had a lot of applique work. She made use of metallic belts with some of the free flowing dresses. There were also shorts, one-piece swimwear and long skirts in mostly shades of brown and black.

"My collection is about woman who likes to travel and discover herself and look glamorous at the same time," Malini told reporters here.

"Rock On!!"actress Koel Purie, who attended her show, constantly cheered for her collection.

 

Designer duo Gauri & Nainika presented what they are best known for- gowns. But there were also flared pants with backless halter top, jumpsuit, slit dress and pencil dress. A wide range of colours like red, green, mustard and black were used.

Matching scarves were tied on models' heads too.

"We wanted to do something fresh. It's resort collection so it's very breezy and has a holiday feel to it," Nainika said.
