Wild elephants went on a rampage in Bihar's Sitamarhi district on Tuesday evening killing at least two people and leaving three others injured, police said.

The wild pachyderms also damaged standing rabi crop, destroyed several houses and created fear and panic among the villagers, a district police official said.

According to the local police, it was unusual for the wild elephants to attack the villagers.

Sitamarhi is some 130 km from state capital Patna.
