Pakistan military said Tuesday it will "completely eliminate" terrorist sanctuaries and hideouts from North Waziristan, media reported.

During a media briefing, Maj. Gen. Asim Saleem Bajwa, spokesman of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said the region had become a hub of terrorists who were brainwashing suicide bombers, Dawn online reported.

Bajwa also said that operation Zarb-i-Azab would meet the expectations of people.

The military spokesman said all measures would be taken to solve the internally displaced persons' (IDPs) problems.

The army launched its operation "Zarb-i-Azb" against militants in the tribal region a week after an attack on Karachi airport June 8.

So far, 447 terrorists have been killed while 88 hideouts have been destroyed, Bajwa said.
