Newly-appointed NDMC vice-chairperson Karan Singh Tanwar Wednesday said he would soon "expose" around 15 corrupt officials of the civic agency especially those who were involved in the 2010 Commonwealth Games.
"I have a list prepared of around 15 such officers who have been appointed by the previous Congress government and have made NDMC a private limited company due to their corrupt practices. I will expose all of them soon," he told IANS.
The Bharatiya Janata Party leader accused these officials of extending their tenure illegally to remain in the New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC).
"These officers come on deputation for three years that can be extended by another two years. But many of them have been here for close to seven or even more years. How is that possible," asked the three-time MLA from Delhi Cantt.
"I am in talks with the central government officials and all these corrupt officers will be removed soon," Tanwar said.
When asked whether it was a political vendetta to replace officials appointed by the Congress with those chosen by the BJP, he said: "It's not a political issue. I want action against those who are not doing their jobs. What's wrong in that?"
