Less than a month before completing his term as the country's President, Pranab Mukherjee on Friday said he got immense love during his long stint in politics and would keep visiting various places across India like a common man after retiring from public life.
With the nation set to elect a new President on July 17, Mukherjee said he had earned love from the common people, political colleagues and parliamentarians throughout his long career span of 25 years as a minister, 43 years as a Member of Parliament in both Houses and also as the head of the state.
"I will keep visiting various places across the country like a common man after my retirement from public life," he said after attending an exhibition of artworks on him at the Academy of Fine Arts here.
He received the first copies of two books on him, titled "Images and Impressions - Profile and Persona of Pranab Mukherjee" and "A Pictorial Biography".
The books contain photographs from the archives of Bengali daily "Aajkal".
