Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has accepted a Football Association misconduct charge for beginning a foul-mouthed chant against Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspurs during his club's FA Cup celebrations.

The 23-year-old caused the controversy atop a bus as the team toured north London. He grabbed a microphone shouting, "What do you think of Tottenham," with supporters swearing, reports goal.com.

The chants continued and Wilshere was later informed about the disciplinary action while being on England duty to which he was quite surprised as he had already apologised for his actions on Twitter.

Wilshere has been warned by Arsenal regarding similar behaviour in the past and requested a non-personal hearing and will now wait for the decision of an independent disciplinary commission over a fine or suspension.

The midfielder, who is currently on international duty, is expected to play for England against Slovenia on Sunday.
