English football giants Manchester United has announced that winger Jesse Lingard has renewed his contract and will remain at Old Trafford at least until 2021.

Lingard, 24, will see his salary rise to 100,000 pounds ($125,000) a week under the new contract, which gives the club an option to extend the deal for an additional year, reports Efe.

"I have been with the club since the age of 7 and I feel great pride every time I pull the shirt on. To have scored in two cup finals for my boyhood club were immensely proud moments for me and my family," Lingard said in comments posted on the club's website on Thursday.

"As a team, we have already won a major trophy (the EFL Cup) this season and I look forward to helping us win many more under this great manager," he added.

Lingard, who earned four caps with the England national team, is a product of Manchester United's academy.

The player made his first-team debut at Old Trafford against Swansea City on the opening day of the 2014-15 season and has scored 11 goals in 71 appearances for the Red Devils.
