Indian IT major Wipro Ltd on Tuesday reported net profit of Rs.2,001 crore for the first quarter of 2016-17, a decline of six per cent from like period year ago.
In a regulatory filing to BSE, the global software major said revenue, however, increased 11 per cent over last year to Rs.13,600 crore for the quarter under review as per the Indian accounting standard,
Under the International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS), net income for Q1 was $304 million and total revenue $2 billion.
Revenue from its flagship global IT services grew 7.6 per cent over last year and 2.6 per cent sequentially to $1.9 billion under IFRS and Rs 13,100 crore in rupee terms.
