Wolfsburg sign Luiz Gustavo

Brazilian international Luiz Gustavo has moved from Bayern Munich to Wolfsburg, signing a contract until 2018.

The 26-year-old midfielder wants to ensure a first team position in view of the World Cup 2014 in Brazil. Besides that he became surplus at Bayern due to new arrivals such as Mario Goetze and Thiago Alcantara, reports Xinhua.

Gustavo joined the Bavarians in 2011 and has scored six goals in 64 matches. He was part of the team that lifted the historic treble last season.

"I am very happy that I made this decision. It is like a new life for me and I will give everything for Wolfsburg. I am really looking forward to this new challenge. Wolfsburg is a top club with a great concept. In addition, I am happy to stay in Germany," Gustavo said at the official press conference Friday.

 

The midfielder received jersey number 22 at his new club and will play his first match Saturday against Schalke.
