A woman Delhi Police officer, who forged the signatures of her area's assistant commissioner of police to get FIRs cancelled from court, has been booked for forgery, police said on Monday.

Sub Inspector Kavita, when posted at Dabri police station in west Delhi, used to forge the signatures of ACP Mandava Harsha Vardhan and he himself filed an FIR against her on Saturday, a police officer told IANS.

Kavita, who is currently posted at Barakhamba Road police station in New Delhi, has been booked under the Indian Penal Code's Sections 417 (punishment for cheating), 466 (forgery of record of court), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating), and 471 (using as genuine a forged document or electronic record).

"The FIR has been filed against Kavita and the report has been forwarded to the New Delhi police district. Also the forged documents have been sent for analysis," the officer said.
