Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal Thursday said the proposed women's security team 'Mahila Suraksha Dal' will be at the "beck and call" of women in the national capital, when it becomes operational.

"The security personnel will keep patrolling your neighbourhoods and if you feel that a particular spot or stretch in the area is not safe, you can ask them to stand guard there - they will be at your beck and call," Kejriwal said as he presented his government's report card.

"A committee has been formed for this purpose," he said.

The Mahila Suraksha Dal will comprise retired army personnel and home guards.

Reiterating that safety of women was a major concern for his government, Kejriwal said the women's security team would not be a parallel police force but more like private security guards.

He said his government was examining the need for more fast-track courts to deal with cases of violence against women.

"We will make provisions to ensure that rapists are sent to jail within 3-6 months," he said.
